Since you're a single parent preparing to date again, it's most important to first consider how your children can and would be affected by your behavior. Obviously, the children must come first and therefore, it might be easier to date someone in a similar situation as you.

Other then all the typical dating advice you hear, the best thing you can do is be honest and confident about the fact that you are a single parent. And be up front with your child, make sure the person you're dating gets along with your child too.

Look for a partner that likes kids. See how that person acts around your children. See how your children acts around them. Try dates that involve the children that is fun for everybody, such as a picnic or family outing. That way the other person knows that you are a package deal.
