To soothe a cough and sore throat, have the sick person drink tea with honey and lemon. The tea is hot and warms you, the honey coats your throat and reduces its irritation and the lemon helps open nasal passages.

The best remedies for a cold are lots of rest, warm blankets, warm soup or broth, and plenty of liquids. Many people also use clear sodas like Sprite or 7up, but that is not recommended for young children. If your child's cold worsens, or she has a sustained fever, seek medical attention promptly.

Honey and tea can soothe one's throat. Give the child chicken noodle soup. Keeping fluids in the child is important. Also serve orange juice. High doses of Vitamin C work.
