Anthracnose fungus spots oak leaves with brown. Oak Tatter shreds young leaves of oaks. In Sudden Oak Death cankers appear on tree trunks and ooze sap. Tree leaves may quickly turn brown, over a period of two weeks to a month, and drop off. The tree may be infected for a year or two before this happens, though.

Oaks can suffer from any number of diseases. Some of those include Anthracnose, Oak Tatters, Oak Wilt, Powdery Mildew, and sect infestation can also weaken the tree, making it more susceptible to various diseases. Many of these are non-curable, so it is important to keep oaks as healthy as possible to avoid infection.

One oak tree disease is Anthracnose which is caused by a group of related fungi. Another disease is oak tatter which effects the emerging oak leaves. This causes them to look tattered and lacey. Oak Wilt is another disease which is known to be lethal most of the time. It is found in red oaks.
