Natural foods that cleanse the colon are prunes, cherries, blueberries, coffee, hummus, any type of beans, and any type of oil. In addition, various yogurts promote digestive health, such as Activia. You could also try a laxative to loosen your bowels and cleanse your bowels, and take vitamins such as Fish Oil.

You don't need fancy pills (unless your Doctor said so). The best thing for your colon is fresh fruit, vegetables and fresh water. Your body is designed to digest food with fiber in it. Processed foods don't have much fiber which can make it difficult for your body.

Fasting every so often, drinking only veggie/fruit juices and water is a good thing every so often. Also, foods with probiotics are good; bannanas, garlic, and onions.

If you're simply having problems with digestion and constipation, slowly adding more fiber to your diet will often be enough to provide relief.

A very popular colon cleansing herb is psyllium. It has great laxative properties that help in the elimination of bowels. Flax seeds increase the intestinal volume and the peristaltic motion that helps in the movement of bowels. A very good laxative would be the aloe leaf.
