As the unwed childbirth rate increases, the rate of juvenile delinquency is also expected to rise, since fatherless homes produce delinquents (and criminals) at a far higher rate than marrieds.

They are facing overcrowding. Juvenile system is also facing younger and younger people accused of crimes. Our current legal system is so backed up it stalls sentences for the juveniles.

One of the main issues facing our juvenile court system is treating each case individually considering the consequences of a too harsh punishment when the juvenile can be reformed or a too lenient punishment that would endanger those around the juvenile needlessly. It is necessary to determine in juveniles whether the crime is a one time mistake or a lifestyle.
