Having a variety of finger foods is always a good option. If it's past dinner time, you'll want to have snacks that aren't too heavy like hard cheese and crackers, veggies and dip, salsa and tortilla chips, etc. Don't skimp on the deserts, it's most peoples favorite part of party snacks!

We served vegetable pizza (which is served cold), assorted fruits with fruit dip, a cheeseball and crackes and decorated sugar cookies and punch.

You can stick with a "baby" theme. Have a veal dinner (baby cow), drizzled in brown gravy and mushrooms, with a side of baby carrots, baby corn, baby celery, and small baby potatoes. For dessert you can make baby pastries, like the mini cupcakes. Or you can cut smaller portions of brownies and make small cookies.

Since the baby shower is at night, people will be expecting a meal, so something a little more substantial is required. I would do something simple like maybe Chicken in a lemon sauce, a pasta dish with some fresh vegetables for those that may not eat meat, a salad and some really nice bread.

Light foods are always the best. I would go with a variety of salads and chicken appetizers. I would have a fruit salad for dessert.
