Take a cue from 50th wedding anniversaries and have a "Golden Oldies" party. Play hit songs from 50 years ago, and ask guests to dress in clothes from the era. Hang the "Birthday Top 50 List" a la Billboard's charts and have a cake shaped like a record or radio.

Find a local hotel that has a conference room or private dinning rooms. Have your husband take you there overnight but secretly have all of your friends waiting in one of the rooms. Have each friend bring a picture of him.

If your husband is the type to get excited about parties my suggestion would be to plan a classy event. Include his favorite dishes and people!
