What are some great tropical landscape design ideas?

I am trying to bring the tropics to my back yard and have no idea where to begin.

I would have to say having some bamboo stems along the exterior lining of your back yard would bring it a tropical oriental look.

Tropical flowers & Plants are a nice way to add flare to your yard. Ferns and Hibiscus plants bring lots of color and liveliness to any yard.

Keep your beds narrow, not more than 1 metre in width. Add large furns to the beds with 3-5 (always odd numbers) large rocks scattered in between. Compliment the furns with palms or Australian furns planted on your lawn. Mist irrigation completes the effect

GOOGLE it and you will be amazed at the amount of designs you will find trying to tell someone a design without a picture is near to impossible if you search it on the web they will have pics there for you to view and it will make it alot easier when you get your stuff.

It depends on your climate. If the climate supports it, go for palm trees! Nothing says tropical more than palm trees.

Using tropical palm trees,Pathways, Green & wild colours - plants & flowers are the main attraction for landscape design, Water & fish feature - Be it in form of pond,Swamp. Tropical lanscaping furnitures.

Well if you want to make sure that you have some great looking landscape, you should place all the trees on to one side. Then place all the flowers on the other side. Space apart and evenly.
