when sprinting run with your head down in order to keep the best posture possible. keep your buttocks in line with the spine and keep your breathing in the proper intervals. Make sure to have proper foot attire. Also keep in mind that training is important and keep your times in a notebook.

Resistance training and plyometrics work the best. Plyometrics are easy, you just need flat surfaces that you can jump up onto. Resistance training, have someone hold your hips behind you and try running as hard as you can. Otherwise parachute running and going through proper stretching routines will help you gain speed. Also, running downhill but maintaining your form.

You want to remain focused ahead at all times, try to attain the maximum stride with your legs, keep your arms straight and remain on the balls of your feet.

Work on your form. Drive your knees up. You need explosiveness - do squats and cleans if you are old enough to lift. Do them properly. Always look ahead, do not try and see where the others are. Practice your starts.

I used to run track and field for my high school team so this answer will be legitimate. To be a good sprinter, it all matters about form. Incorporate your arms in this and keep your knees HIGH up at all times. Your arms should flow from a right angle and back, and your knees should go high up.

To be a good sprinter, you need to be gifted with speed. That is something you can not teach. If you have that, than ladders are a good place to start. Run a 10 meters, 20 meters, 40 meters, 60 meters, 100 meters, 200 meters in rapid succesion. This will help you develop for all stages of the race.

Make sure you have a pair of good running shoes. They need to fit right, and be light. Bad shoes will make you not want to continue training.

In my opinion, what is vital for sprinting training is explosive power in ones legs generally. One way to achieve this is to run up stairs, taking two or three steps at a time as fast as possible several times. Another exercise is bunny hops up the stairs, that is, jump from a crouching position with both legs simultaneously.

Sprinting is an anarobic activity. The use of fast twitch muscle fibers are key to any success. There are plenty of drills and excercises to help build strenght and speed.
