Insulin is used to treat diabetes. Your physician will consider this when prescribing medications, particularly with respect to your overall health. Your pharmacist, too, will monitor multiple medications and beware of difficulties with possible interactions and notify the prescribing physician. If it not a good idea to seek this sort of advice from lay persons.

Well if you want to be careful of the interactions, you want to avoid anything with a strong antibiotic base. Do not mix your diabetes medicines with those because it can cause a bit of a reaction.

There are naby potential interactions, the most worrisome being ones causing hypoglycemia. These would include combining insulin with any sulfonylurea like Glyburide. You should also not combine two sulfonylureas. Biguanides can cause hypoglycemia but are less problematic than the sulfonylureas. Always check with your doctor or pharmacist first before taking meds.
