Highest problem rated is transmission followed by drivetrain problem, electrical problem, engine problem, body or paint problem, wheel hub problem, interior accessary problem, suspension problem, brake problem, windshield problem, aircond or heater problem, steering problem and cooling system problem. Starting year 2004 onwards, they fixed most problems resulting to a less than 5 problems reported yearly.

it has problems with the ac providing no heat , some times the windows do not open , problem with gears and the brakes some times do not work , makes noise and also the clunks , engine management system controlled by a computer is a problem in africa where this techonolgy is limited

Electrical (dome light), automatic transmission, rear axle rust failure, egr system clogging, antilock brake module, cruise control failure, air conditioning pressure switch

They tend to have problems with their anti-lock brakes. The earlier ones with the 3.0L engine tend to be a little underpowered, and I've heard of several having transmission issues. Personally, I also question their build quality. My father has owned two and as a result I've sworn off Ford.
