there are many printers compatible with win98 but i prefer HP Q2461A LaserJet 1012 PC & Mac Compatible R , its cool and have many specifications that makes it your first choice: Speed 15 ppm, Resolution 600 x 600 dpi and with memory > 8MB too, Monthly Duty Cycle 5,000 pages and many other great features

Almost all printers will be compatible with win98 except for some select newer models. Try searching ebay or a local store for an older model printer in good condition. It should say on the box what operating platforms it supports. It's more a question of hardware compatibility than software.

Any printer is compatible with windows 98 but the only requirement is it should have device drivers that are compatible with windows 98. Because windows 98 does not support plug and play printers.
