Usually if you explain the situation to a job employer then they will just look over the conviction. A good cash paying job would be construction, or even working for a indian at a hotel or gas station.

Most employers will not allow a person with any type of conviction on their record to handle money, or expensive merchandise. You will be most likely to find a job that emphasizes physical labor, such as a moving company, construction, or similar field. National chains such as Costco and Trader Joe's sometimes hire convicts.

Obviously jobs which don't really have a security issue. Construction, landscaping, garbage removal (essentially, any physical labour positions) usually are jobs which aren't as strict when it comes to your background.
