Chocolate shades would make a lovely primary color and are seldom used. Make the accents, such as the flowers, ribbons, etc. colors that you see in fall: rich golds, rusts, oranges. These will soften the chocolate. Or flip-flop the primary color with orange and accent with chocolate. And, you will stand out well in this scheme.

Being in the fall, I would recommend a warmer color scheme to match with fall colors. For example, orange, brown, red, and yellow remind me of the falling leaves. If you are really adventurous, you could try a halloween themed wedding color pallete, featuring black and orange. Whatever you pick, make sure you can get dresses, table linens, etc.
