A cyst is a closed, sac-like structure that contains fluid, semisolid material, or gas. They are common and result from infections, genetic conditions, and chronic inflammation. There is really no way to prevent cysts, just be vigilant with examinations and pay attention to areas that are experiencing pain and pressure.

Cysts are usually non cancerous growths which accumulate fluid and grow. Sometimes depending upon the area they need to be surgically removed. Most cysts do not have a direct cause however I had a cyst form on my butt because I drove a lot and hair became ingrown and became a cyst which had to be removed.
