All Dlp TV problems arise form the use of the projection tubes located in the back of the t.v. They need to be changed out every couple of years and it can certaintly add up on money cost. They also have a terrible problem with light and sun causing glares in the pictures.

All DLP TV's use projection technology. With that technology, there usually three differet color bulbs, which loose calibration and illumination and need to be replaced. this can be expensive without a warranty, but can be done if you have a little know how. You'll have the buy the bulbs directly from samsung.

The bulb or light goes out, the TV shuts off automatically, the color wheel goes bad and green lines appear on the screen.

The biggest problems I have heard about with the Samsung DLP TV's are problems with the bulbs going out. Like any bulb, in a lamp or any other product that uses bulbs, they are designed to work for only a set number of hours.
