They are French rugs made of many bright colors and patterns. They are usually but not always made from wool. They make incredible tapestries. They began around the mid-1400 and have a variety of scents to them. Usually bright colors against a background of blue, they are rather eye catching.

They are usually mistaken for "Oriental Rugs". The have many wonderful colors in them and have lots of pattern. They are also almost always made from wool. Good points- lots of color to choose from. Bad Points-very stinky after being washed

Aubusson Rugs are French rugs that have the look at feel of tapestry. They have been well known since back in the 1400s. They frequently have scenes on them, such as hunting scenes. They are richly embroidered, frequently with motifs like vases and flowers often set against a dark background of brown or blue.
