What age to babies normally start talking?

It varies, but my first sone was saying words not too long before his first birthday. Then from there they will begin to talk more (mostly one word at a time - mama, dada, etc...) After a while they will start to complete phrases too. The more you talk to your little one the quicker they will pick it up.

All babies are different, but the way to expedite the process it to talk to your baby in regular speech as opposed to "baby talk". Also, read to your baby every night.

Usually around 18 months of age babies start saying their first words. Sometimes it is earlier and sometimes later. If by age two a baby is not saying some words that people outside the family can recognize, it is good to see a doctor.
