What age child should read The Chronicles of Narnia series?

My daughter is 7 and she may be too young.

If she's a good reader, I think she'd be fine. Start her off on The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe and see how it works out. If she gets bored, try again in a few years. I think she'll probably enjoy them though. She'll read them again as an adult and enjoy them even more!

The Chronicles of Narnia series are at an appropriate reading level for children in 3rd to 4th grade, so around 8-9.

It depends on the individual child's reading ability and understanding of what she is reading. A teacher I know read the first book to his class of 9 year olds, some had English as a second language. Read it with your daughter to start with and see how she goes.

It all depends on her reading level, and if you think she will understand. Some kids are reading Lord of The Rings, depending on the violence level their parents allow.
