Start seeding early in the morning when the ground is still slightly wet, so the seeds "stick". Also, check the weather forecast to make sure there isn't going to be a huge thunderstorm on its way. You don't want all your seeds washed away.

The two most important factors in overseading a lawn is to ensure there is a good place for the seed to root in, and an even distribution of seeds. On slightly moist soil, overseed, then lightly rake in the seeds and you should get a great result.

Choose the right seed for your environment. First, lightly rake the area you are seeding. Then go over it with your spreader in overlapping rows. Water immediately.

Overseeding your lawn will help to keep the grass looking thick and lush and it also helps keep it free of weeds. Early September is the best time to overseed.

Well to use an over seeder, you have to make sure that you are leaving enough space between each seed.

Do it in the fall that way it has the entire winter to lay there under the snow and germinate.

With an over seeder watch the amount of seeds you put in the over seeder as too many may hurt your lawn.
