Depending on how curly your hair is, you will want to straighten it different ways. If you are of African American, Asian or Indian decent, you may want to consider getting it professionally relaxed. For other curls, you can blow dry the hair straight or use a flat iron to achieve great results.

My favorite way to straighten my curls is with mousse, a round bristle brush and a hair-dryer. Shampoo and condition your hair, towel dry lightly and apply mousse. Run your brush under a lock, with the dryer on top of it repeatedly until the lock is straight and dry. Tada!

If you opt to straighten your hair, be sure not to apply any other harsh products soon after (such as hair color or perms)--you'll cause breakage.

A good straighting iron to use is the ceramic ones. Also you can get a straightening perm which will straighten you hair for longer periods. Also make sure you hair stayed conditioned and used heavy styling products which weighs the hair down.
