I got emails with terrible accusations and name callings. I don't even know the person who sent them but they were for me definitely. I threatened to file a libel and defamation lawsuit and seek punitive charges if they don't back off. Never heard from them again.

I was once accused of stealing from my workplace (which I didn't do). They apologized, but I ended up leaving.

Yes. I resolved it by first giving a credible alibi that was backed by a respectable third party. In extreme cases, I have tracked down who actually did what I was accused of and proved that person was the culprit.

Everyone at some point in their lives will get accused of something they didnt do. It doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing, though often it is. I was accused of not being sick once when I called off work, and it was resolved when I brought in my doctor's note. Communication and honesty are the keys to resolution.

Years ago, my husband made an assumption about me that was false. I don't wish to get into details, but the consequences could have been devastating. However, we communicated, more through letters than talking, in order to assure that we said what we wanted to carefully, and resolved the issue.
