Female cats can carry on reproducing throughout their lives. There is no cut off date as to when a cat can stop breeding. This is because they do not go through the menopause. However, their fertility may wane slowly the older the cat gets.

Cats after the age of 10 years usually go through a sort of cat menopause. Where they can no longer get pregnant and no longer go into heat. Their bodies stop producing the hormones that get them 'in the mood' and they quit getting a 'period'. A 10-year-old cat is equal to a 45-50 year old woman.
