In holding to tradition, the responsibility of hosting a rehearsal dinner has been the grooms parents. Although weddings today are swaying from the traditional, the decision is up to the bride and groom. Some couples today are opting to go far away to get married and upon returning having only a reception.

It has been tradition for the grooms family to pay for the rehearsal dinner, however with the recent changes and with more and more couples paying for their wedding often traditions are overlooked. There is nothing wrong with the bride and groom themselves paying for the rehearsal dinner. If you are more of a traditionalist stick with the grooms family.

The wedding rehearsal dinner is traditionally hosted by, and paid for by the groom's family. A traditional guest list for the rehearsal dinner includes all members of the wedding party and a guest. This is the traditional opportunity for the groom's mother to contribute to the wedding by planning the rehearsal dinner.

Traditionaly the groom's family. Either a restaurant meal or a home cooked meal are perfectly acceptable. Invitations should be extended to the wedding party and their significant others, as well as out of town guests.
