They planter do go plants if that is what you are asking. However you can get much bigger tomato plants by going them in the traditional way. The small container can restrict the growing of the plant. If it where in the ground it can get as big as it wants. However it is slighter more work.

Topsy Turvy tomato planters work wonderfully and eliminate the possibility of animals urinating on your tomato plants! You still have to water them, of course, yet they are great!.

I did a science experiment with those a few years ago. We did it compared to regular potted plants. They do work better if you care for them correctly.
