Only if a trip in a car causes stress to the dog. There are several natural remedies that work well. You can also try giving him his favorite chew treat.

You can use a mild sedative if your dog does not travel well but talk to your vet first. Your dog needs to be in good health to do this. If you have time before the trip try and get your dog accustom to the drive instead by taking mini trips until he is okay with it.

No I do not suggest you tranquilize your dogs. Those kind of drugs are only meant to be used in an emergency situation. If your dog has issues riding in the car put him in his kennel with a few of his favorite toys and put a towel over the door. Dogs do well when they feel safe.

You don't have to use anything so strong unless your dog is completely out of hand. Just give your dog a couple Benydril and that should calm him down.
