Before visiting a doctor for irregular bowels, it would be a good idea to make some changes in your diet to help regulate your bowels. Increasing fiber intake, increasing fluid intake, decreasing meat consumption, and ingesting probiotics are all helpful in regulating your bowels and decreasing the time your food spends in your intestines.

That would depend on how irregular your bowels are. If you have a bowel movement every 1-3 days, no that is normal, to make them more regular increase your fiber.

If you are constipated you may want to try taking a stool softener. If you have loose stools you can try changing your diet and eating more solid foods to see if that works. If neither of these things work, you may have to see a gastroenterologist for more in depth treatment.

If you suffer from irregular bowels on a frequent basis then yes you should go to the doctor. There are certain tests which they will have to preform. One serious condition is known as IBS this can be treated but only with correct diet and medication that is why you should go to the doctor.

You may have Inflammatory bowel disease (IBS), which caused by an overactive immune system. You're healthy but just your immune system is overactive. Symptoms of IBS: abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, blood in stools, weight loss and some may have arthritis. You should go to doctor if you have the symptoms.

Yes, you shoudl. Irregular bowel movements can be simple constipation or a symptom of more serious conditions like irritable bowel syndrome or Chrone's Disease. Also, if it is just constipation, that can result in impacted stool which can be dangerous.
