This depends on your age, filing status, and the amount that you made. If you are under 18, your income can be reported on your parents taxes. If you are over 18 and made more than $400 then you should file. If you are married you may benefit by filing jointly. If you may owe taxes then you must file.

Whether you should file taxes does not depend on the source of your income but the amount. As a babysitter you likely are deemed a self employed person. For 2008 you needed to earn more than $400.00 annually before needing to file. It all depends on your other income.

Well, the correct answer is "yes" you should. It's earned injcome, and unfortunately all earned income should be reported. Now, some earned income may result in no taxes owed. The amount of earnings, if low, often result in complete forgiveness.

It depends on how much money you made, and if they took taxes out. If you made more then $15,000 in a year, then you are legally required to file and pay taxes. Less than that and you don't have to. If your employer reports your income to the IRS, you should file anyway.

There is no need to file taxes for babysitting. This job is off the books and can't be traced by anyone. As long as no social security number is involved you are good. Can't get a company check either.
