Should I be concerned if I have chicken pox pustules near the eye?

Varicella is not typically an emergent process. However, your eyes are extremely sensitive organs. Left untreated, severe cases can result in multiple complications. A certain level of concern is warranted.

Concerned, yes. Panicked, no. Herpetic virus can occasionally cause eye complications. Chicken pox blisters near the eye warrant a phone call to your medical care provider.

Normaly chicken pox pustules near eye is not harmful unless pus dischare goes in to eyes. If it does occur then you can wash eyes with warm water and can apply antibiotic opthelmic ointment at night and eye drops during day time. You can consult opthelmologist also if above tretment does not work.
