White-footed ants are pests that congregate in huge colonies wherever they locate. They are harmless in that they do not sting or bite, but they are difficult to eradicate once they have established residence.

They don't bite, or harm property. But the aphids they nurture will hurt your ornamental plantings. There can be a million ants per colony, and because of their habits of feeding and nesting, they are hard to eliminate. Several control methods combined are needed to knock back these pests.

Any ants around the house are a problem. The first thing I would do it check and see where they congregate. Set ant traps in that area. Rain usually draws ants. If you see them in your house, there are house traps you can use.
