My volume icon is missing from the toolbar, how do I fix this?

Answer by  monoacuro (441)

You can just go to control panel, then click on sounds and audio devices. When that opens up click on the volume tab, then on that screen there should be a box that says "place volume icon in the task bar" check it then apply the new settings.

Windows 7 users see control panel > notification area icons > make sure Show icon and notification is selected. Win XP control panel> sound and audio devices > check box

If you can't ear any sound either you're missing the audio drivers. Just put the CD which came along with your motherbord. Usually it has the correct drivers.

It will depend on what platform your computer is running on. If you are running windows try going to properties and then click on volume. Then check the box that says something like place volume icon on toolbar.
