My son passed away six months before graduation. Can I send out announcements? Can you suggest wording?

If your son is receiving the diploma posthumously, you can invite close friends and family to witness the award that he would have wanted them to see given. Do not send out general announcements to a hundred acquaintances. However, it is fine if close friends and family are notified and given the option to attend.

I don't know exactly what you would be announcing. If your son has passed he obviously won't be graduating. If the school is going to issue a dimploma in his name to respect the fact that he would have graduated, just mention this to your close friends and family. People would know what to do about that announcement.

I think it would be touching for you to send out a note acknowledging the fact that he would have graduated and write a nice note or poem in his memory. People that are close enough to receive announcements would love to receive something like that.
