My dog had pups six weeks ago. She and pups were wormed two weeks ago, Can I give her the other half of the tablet now?

She isn't visiting the pups that often now.

Worms are passed by way of fleas. If the mom still has worms, the pups likely do as well. Consult your veterinarian. Never medicate your animals based on advice from non-professionals.

Sometimes it's good to wait. But to be sure, talk with your vet about what is best for your dog. It should be okay, since she's not with the pups that often. If they are already weaned, then I would say go ahead and give her the other half of the medication.

You're dog should definitely be fine to take the other half of the pill, which is I'm assuming is an antibiotic. It only takes a female dog about 3 or 4 days to fully recover from giving birth and have her system metabolize again. Whatever pill you give her, as long as it is the recommended dose will be okay.

You should wait until you dog is completly down lactating and feeding the puppies before giving any worm medications. Since puppies can continue feeding into three months you should wait until then. In Addition, puppies should never be wormed before eight weeks of age to avoid diarehha and serious sickness.

Typically you want to wait three weeks between worming dogs, but different products have different dosing/schedules, especially with dogs who have recently whelped. Consult your veterinarian to be sure.
