Could be a bad EKG valve, or bad battery connection. This could be caused by any number of things. Test your alternator and battery connections. If they are lose, or your alternator is going bad it will cause the strain of being in drive to kill the engine.

It may be bacause your batter is running low, or there might not be enough fuel in the tank. There are other more serious issues such as transmission problems which may play a factor as well.

First, take a look at your fueil gauge and be sure the tank isn't empty. After that, take the cover off of your air cleaner and try it again.

If your dodge pickup begins to die as soon it is put in gear, then that is a sign that the battery is low an dmust be changed. Or it is a sign that the gear arrangement is aligned wrong.

Live in a hilly area and make sure to be able to have the engine running as your reach the top. Once you have to leave going down will be a more reliable gamut. Accept that one day you will need a new ride.
