You can file in court for an injunction. You must have good reason, like you identifiable in the DVD and you did not sign a release, or the DVD is your creative work, or the material legally is not to be made public. Your argument must be thorough and detailed and supported by the law.

Yes. Depends upon whether the DVD was made legally or the pictures or sayings of someone else and if they recorded these pictures or conversations on a DVD without the consent of the parties involved. The police can become involved if they feel a crime has been committed and they can prevent the release of the DVD.

It depends on whether or not you have not signed a consent form for a dvd to be released if it features you. Also, your reason has to be compelling to stop the dvd from being released. In essence, yes, this can be done, how likely is the question.

The only way to stop the release of a dvd is to prove that it is an invasion of your privacy or that you hold the intellectual rights to the content. You will have to sue the company releasing the dvd and convince a judge that you have due cause to prevent it's release. It will be difficult to prove.

It is possible to request and receive an injunction to stop the release of a DVD. The possible reasons for such a request vary.

No, I don't think there is. I think this falls under the freedom of speech category. People can say and do what they want.

The person who files a paten for some music, news, dvd's with the government can bring a lawsuit and have Congress put forth a bill. There is a privacy act that can be enforced, filing lawsuits against the person who violates that act. The 1998 act "Digital Millennium Copyright Act" finds it unlawful to do DVD-copying software without permission.
