Absolutely. You could just write down the number to your local auto mechanic's shop and call them when a problem surfaces. If you are looking for a toll free number to call, try 1-800-847-9454. They can answer nearly any question you might have.

Yes there are various hot lines worldwide that are open to answer all your questions! However your easier going to see a mechanic because as you said yourself if you don't know alot about cars then it could be a long and lengthy phonecall and no outcome to it. so yes going to see your mechanic would be easier.

You can always go to and it will show you a bunch of places where you could look to find the answer to your question and if that does not work you will notice on the right of the screen that you can ask a mechanic now.
