You could have a persistent infection in the abdomen, triggered by the surgery, which continually spreads to the bladder. Your doctor may consider a stronger antibiotic for this.

Yes, the two are connected due to the catheter insertion during surgery and other possible infections during the healing processes after the surgery.

When you have a hysterectomy, your bladder has the tendency to fall because it lost some of it's support. This surgery can make you more prone to bladder infections.

Bladder infections usually do not occur from the hysterectomy itself, but from the urinary catheter that is placed during and after the surgery. The catheter line can harbor bacteria that enters the urinary tract causing an infection. Patients can experience lower abdominal pain, bloody or cloudy urine, painful urination and fever.
