The FDA passed it as a sugar substitute - so yes, it should be completely safe, in so far as any sweetener is and if you have no food allergy.

Some experts say that splenda is unsafe and that the chemical sweetener sucralose may harm your body. But the truth is, we still dont know yet weather it is safe or unsafe.

It was safe until recently. Research has found that Splenda may actually cause thymus glands to shrink, Enlarged organs like the liver and kidneys, decreased red blood cells, aborted pregnancies, increased cecal weight, decreased fetal body weights and placental weights, Hyperplasia of the pelvis, Reduced growth rate. After I found out this info I stopped using splenda.

No! It has been tested on lab rats and they have said it has caused cancers in the lab rats! I would not recommend using splenda as a substitute. I would say use pure cane sugar or sugar in the raw. They both taste delicious and are not harmful to your body.
