Sleep apnea is the most serious sleep disorder. It is dangerous as it can be fatal. It can lead to stroke or a heart attack. It may be something that is happening while one is asleep, but the consequences such as extreme daytime sleepiness, cognitive impairment, extreme fatigue are disabling.

Brainiacs on here! Sleep Apnea can be a disability if it is dasabling. This all has to do with the type and severity of the condition. There are some cases where people cannot shake the haze of exhaustion and fatigue from the condition. There are a few different types.

It is not a disability. It is a respiratory disorder normally affect the victim while sleeping. It makes the victim unable to breath. It causes tiredness the next day. It should be diagnosed and treated as it may lead to heart attack.

Ask your doctor is he has ever submitted papers to the social security office for this. I would assume it was not a disability. It can be treated. I know plenty of people who funtion at their jobs.

You qualify for disability if you are unable to work due to your disability. Sleep apnea is something that happens while you are sleeping, not while working.

You can always apply. However, sleep apnea is something that they like to deny if you don't fill out the paperwork properly. You can always try to apply for disability.

I do not believe it is a disability. Sleep apnea is caused by an obstruction in the airway due to being obese or tonsils. Use cpap and it's eliminated.

No, I don't believe so. it doesn't really impede your ability to function in any way. However it can be life threatening so please see your doctor if it's bad.
