Is skiing dangerous?

I have never skied before and am a little scared I will get hurt.

Never been skis, but I would imagine that drinking hot chocolate at the ski lodge fireside is a lot safer, and can be equally rewarding! Only kidding. I would guess the risks might include broken bones, frostbite, torn ligaments, etc. Plus a ski chair lift recently fell--rare but scary nonetheless.

To avoid any kind of disaster while skiing take lessons, and learn the basics of skiing so you won't get hurt.

Ski at your own risk! There's hill specifically for beginners, intermediate, advanced, and pros. Helmets are always a good idea too.

I highly recommend taking a lesson from the ski area your first time out. This will teach you the basics and reduce your risk of getting hurt.

It is not so scary if you take lessons the first time you ski. You will get the proper training and learn how to protect yourself (and others) from getting injured

no. skiing is an interesting game but you will end up wounded or even killed if you try to do something stupid only. so better have a skii instructor with you as you are going to try it for the first time.
