Just like gold and platinum, silver is not inherently magnetic. Silver can become minimally magnetized if placed in a magnetic field. However, the magnetic life is limited. Even though Silver is not magnetic it has high thermal and electric conductivity.

Silver is not magnetic on it's own, although magnets can be made out of silver. This means a metal detector isn't going to pick up lost silver or sterling silver jewelry.
