Is ringworm in a human contagious to another human?

My daughter has had it three times and I think she's picking it up at daycare.

Yes, ringworm is contagious through skin to skin contact and can be transmitted human to human, animal to human and sometimes even soil to human. The fungus can live on surfaces such as blankets, carpet and toilet seats so be sure to inform the daycare of these incidents.

Yes and no. While kids often get ringworm from schools and daycare, they get them from surfaces inside the buildings not from direct contact with another child who is infected. The root cause of the problem is a lack of proper cleaning at the daycare. Talk with the owner about cleaning procedures they use.

Ringworm can be passed to another person. It is called tinea and is a fungal infection. It can occur on the feet, scalp or on the body. It is treated with antifungal cream. Ask around at the daycare to see if others are affected.

Yes, Ringworm can be transmitted from person to person. Seeing that it is a fungus, I would suspect your daughter is picking it up at daycare. Call your pediatrician.
