Yes, Quito is a city in Ecuador. It is actually the capital of Ecuador, and has basically been the capital for over a thousand years. Long ago it was inhabited by the Quitu Tribe who were overtaken by the Caras Tribe. At that time, in the year 980, the Kingdom of Quito was founded.
