No, mold is not the cause of black soot on the floor. Black soot comes from a fire and mold is caused by dampness.

I don't think mold is the cause of the black soot on the floor, it could be dirt coming from a dirty shoes or accumulated dust. If for example you will leave your house for a long time and cover the floor with cloth, the soot will be on the cloth and not on the floor.

Yes, to tell you the truth the mold is the cause of the soot that is on the ground. To get rid of this, you may want to spray on all over the floor. Otherwise, you can also use some vinegar or some rubbing alcohol that will work. The mold will disappear.

Mold is only one possible cause of black soot on the floor. If the area is in direct sunlight for much of the day, it is more likely being slowly scorched by the sun. You shuld also check for other heat related causes, such as proximity to a heater or hot water pipes. It could also be -- soot!

Well yes mold is the cause of the soot. But there could be many other reasons. You may have some insects in your house. You may also have some pests such as mouse and what not. But the main common reason to have this soot on the ground is mites.

Without more information it is hard for me to tell. However, it very well could be, so do not rule it out. It could also be that someone tracked in a bunch of dirt. Clean it up and pay attention to how and when it returns. You will be able to tell much easier if you do it that way.
