Lecitihin is a supplement that some people claims helps stabilize mood. Others say it tends to depress mood, which would make it useful to someone who is manic or hypomanic.

Do not believe any quack who says lecithin is a remedy for bipolar disorder. Consult a competent health professional. Bipolar disorder can be effectively treated these days with proper medication.

Yes. Just make sure that she takes it regularly. It is a good medicine if prescribed in the correct dosage, but then it must also be taken correctly by the patient. Make sure she takes it everyday to get it into her system.

Lecithin isn't a medication for bipolar disorder. It's a dietary supplement. But it is often used for treating certain memory disorders like dementia and Alzheimer's disease. It may help somewhat as it is converted into acetlycholine which transmits nerve impulses. It is by no means an actual remedy for being bi-polar though.

Lecithin is a nutritional supplement, NOT a medication. Ethically, the only people who can answer your question are your sister and the psychiatric professional who is treating her symptoms.

You should take what your doctor suggests. If you think she isn't responding well to this meidcation then you should contact her doctor to see if he or she will switch her medication to something she responds well to. If your doctor will not switch the meds I suggest you get a new doctor because this is important.
