Is it safe to microwave in melamine ware?

I know that there are recommendations to remove melamine ware form the market but can I still use what I have at home and can I microwave it?

Melamine ware is safe to use depending on its condition. Being a form of plastic it can withstand up to certain limitations. Once it begins to show bubbling, cracking, or turning black from repeated exposure to heat throw it away as it can be toxic. For longevity of use it is recommended not to be used in a microwave.

It is really not a good idea to microwave anything plastic as toxins and chemicals can leech out into your food. Use ceramic or glass instead.

It is not a good idea to use melamine ware in the microwave because it will absorbe the radiation and the food will not be heated.

As long as there is no metal on the cookware it should be safe to use in the microwave. You just can't put anything metal in them.

I have always used melamine ware in the microwave, and I have not had any problems with doing so. Other people have told me that I should not do it.

No it is definitely not safe to microwave in melamine ware. Melamine will actually absorb the radiation from the microwave and melt it, leaving your food cold and you without a dish.
