Is it safe to eat fruit with a powdery mildew on it?

My fruit has a powdery mildew on it.

IT might be okay but I would not take any chances. Don't eat it. Don't eat anything with mildew on it.

If you purchase fruit with a powdery mildew on it, it is recommended to wash all fruit thoroughly before consumption. It is not safe to eat fruit with a powdery mildew on it. It is recommended all fruit is washed thoroughly which will remove the powdery mildew as well as any other harmful substance.

No it is not safe to eat fruit with powdery mildew on it. That powdery substance is mold that has formed which contains strains of bacteria. If you were to ingest it you would most likley become very ill with food posining or wost e coli.

Sounds like the fruit is mouldy. I would wash it well then trust your instincts. If it's not over ripe or smelly you can give it a go and you should be fine (that's if it is mould).
