If it's precooked sausages such as links or bratwurst, the package should list microwave instructions. These are usually best cooked in just enough water to cover them, but note they will not be crisp like they would from a pan. For raw or ground sausage, microwave cooking would be unsafe.

If the package says the sausage is fully cooked, it's safe. Slice the sausage into small pieces and microwave for about 45 seconds for one sausage, longer if you have more. If the sausage isn't fully cooked, you'll have to cook it on the stovetop.

It is safe to cook sausage in the microwave. You may just want to poke it with a fork first so it doesn't burst in the heat.

Prick the sausages with the tines of a fork. Place on a paper towel that is on top of a plate, cover with another paper towel. Amount of sausages will depend on how long to cook. It is better to start out with a couple of minutes and check often.
