Yes it is. First get your self an instruction book and read up on how to do it. Next visit stores and cost the materials you'll need and then ask the tile seller any questions you may have.

Yes, people who have some knowledge of doing home projects can do this themselves. There are many books on correct way to lay tile and also information can be obtained from handyman stores such as Home Depot that have classes. Correct tools are a necessity.
