Yes. One of the desired results of a spinal fusion is to stimulate bone growth between the vertebrae to effectively fuse the two bones together. Sometimes that bone will not grow and the vertebrae segments will not fuse, which results in a failed surgery.

Well, yes it is possible but good care of the spine will prevent this. I suggest joining a back therapy or a bikram yoga class. It keeps the spine aligned.

A spinal fusion is a surgery that involve fusing two or more vertebraes. Failed spinal fusion is possible but very rare after several years. This usually happened in patient with a lot of co-morbidities in which the healing process become delayed.

A spinal fusion can fail, but to know for sure, you see a doctor as soon as possible. They will be able to determine what is happening with your spine. Remember pain is your body's way of telling you something is wrong.

The fusion of the spinal bones itself does not usually fail. The areas above and below the fusion tend to wear out due to the extra pressure from the fusion.

It is very possible. Even if there was no original defect in the fusion, wear and tear can gradually cause it to fail over time.
